One plan that will not be considered by " progressive " Rhode Island Democrats is draconian rent control. In general ,the homeless crisis in this country -which now includes the homeless migrant crisis - will inevitably collide with legally sacrosanct landlord-capitalist PRIVATE PROPERTY rights. Especially in Rhode Island there is not enough vacant building and housing space to shelter a few hundred chronically homeless people here ? Why not dispossess the chronically negligent , slum -absentee landlords as a creative start ? The hacks of the Democratic Party fail to see a general crisis of decaying capitalism in the United States. They fail to see an acute crisis - soon to amount to a meltdown- in Corporate America's TWO PARTY SYSTEM . More than a MILLION homeless human beings in " OUR democracy " are not going to die quietly in some dark alley. They will fight back with the ferocity of caged beasts. You see this in tormented Palestine presently . With no respect for Robert's Rules of Order !
