But what does RIGHT vs. LEFT really mean in " OUR democracy " ?

As a longtime independent democratic socialist I , of course , have a different slant on people- connected to the Democratic Party- not infrequently " slandered " as " socialists " by the Far Right of the Republican Party and falsely described as " Far Left " by the mainstream news media. I do think that many individuals described as " Far Left Lunatics " ( operating in the now WOKE WARRIOR Democratic Party ) are indeed less than rational , less than honest persons. Never analyzed intelligently in the media is this concept of LEFT vs. RIGHT . For perspective you have to go back to the primal democratic ideology of the Great French Revolution in 1789. The so called LEFT always tended or pretended to favor the COMMON PEOPLE . The so called " RIGHT " always tended or pretended to favor and indeed represent the nation's elites -including the intellectual elite of Science. Recall the unfortunate execution by the French revolutionary government of the great chemist Lavoisier.. Marx and Engels were generated by the German upper class. But they went over to the growing proletariat - indeed became its brains. The TWO PARTY SYSTEM in the United States seeks to contain the always smoldering CLASS STRUGGLE. Today in " OUR democracy " WOKE ideology is mostly a distraction from CLASS struggle . It serves to divide the working class of all races and ethnic groups. It divides males from females ,in general - fanning the flames of a foolish WAR BETWEEN THE SEXES. What passes for " public education " is mostly an academic effort to bludgeon young minds to think thoughts that do not threaten the rule of the ONE PERCENT , of the American plutocracy . As Marx said back in 1848 : " The ruling ideas are the ideas of the ruling class. That explains why American Talk Radio has no SOCIALIST voice ! When the ruling class plans this or that glorious , patriotic war it tries to convince working class people , and ordinary Americans in the middle class, that THEIR bloody war is all a fight to protect sacred democratic ideals like FREEDOM , SECURITY for " sovereign " nations. For more than 100 years now " our " wars were all about American imperialist interests . The stale Wilsonian blather rings more hollow today than in the year 1917 when President Woodrow Wilson was on fire to " make the world safe for democracy " in a " war to end all wars ". Hey kids , do your high school teachers or college professors let YOU in on THE TRUTH ? Don't count on FREE SPEECH USA ! Even if you subscribe to the New York Times , you will remain essentially befuddled.
