A review of this short story by William Dean Howells begins : " An impressionable young woman, Editha bases her sentimental view of war on the yellow journalism that she reads in the current newspapers ... " one of [ the author's] most successful and best known short stories ". Perhaps a reading of this anti-war story can dampen enthusiasm for any " imminent " war inspired by jackass belief in the phony ideals of " OUR democracy ". Presently it does seem ( according to the ZIONIST Jew controlled mainstream news media) that EVIL Russia in this Ukraine crisis does not live up to the high ethical standards of our plutocracy , our CIA , our shadowy but virtuous DEEP STATE, our Pentagon War Crimes Machine .
SPOILER : Patriotic Editha persuades her boyfriend George to be a HERO and go fight in the glorious Spanish American War. George gets killed but the conclusion of the story tells the reader that ALL AMERICAN Editha has learned nothing .
Question : To what degree are women the most conservative force on the planet ? The real reason why SOCIALIST movements never get off the ground ?
