The American capitalist system's contempt for the elderly pre-dates President Donald Trump. Way back in 2000 I discovered this book : " But This Is My Mother-the plight of elders in American nursing homes " by Cynthia Loucks .
" Written by a daughter whose mother a total care patient in a nursing home , this a completely personal story plus an eye opener about what passes as average in many nursing homes "( a reviewer ).
Again the root of the evil is the FOR PROFIT health care system in which health care for ALL cannot possibly rise to level of a BASIC HUMAN RIGHT.
The attack on the poor and the elderly is a decades long BIPARTISAN effort . It took off in the Reagan Era . Democratic Socialism will end it !
