The American plutocracy has produced the most subservient and timid intellectual class in human history .

In " 1984 " Winston Smith finally breaks down and says with Big Brother : " 2+2 = 5 . That is what you learn at Harvard nowadays.

The Bernie Sanders " movement " will survive " The Last Hurrah " of the Democratic Party

As a democratic socialist I think President Donald Trump deserves an oscar for hilarious public entertainment when making fun of his self-destructing " liberal " political opponents : Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Michael Bloomberg, " Sleepy Joe " Biden . Hard to " hate " a president who is so entertaining . Trump could have easily replaced Johnny Carson on the old " Tonight Show ". Would Judge Judy like to share a pizza with " Mini-Mike " ? Perhaps the Roman emperor Nero was also a stand-up comic ? In no way will " Sleepy Joe " Biden be elected president of the United States. There is a " home " in his future . But it is not the White House. But " socialist " Bernie Sanders - his " movement " - will survive " The Last Hurrah " of the Democratic Party. Presently this Democratic Party is as unstable as a U-235 nucleus - just waiting for a slow neutron to come along .

To be sure, there is not a whiff of " democratic socialism " among pro-Biden " establishment " Democrats. But they are promising disciples of Stalinism .

No " liberal " Democrat deigns to notice the mockery of FREE SPEECH and FREE THOUGHT on college campuses and in the mainstream news media.

• of socialism is conditioned by his life experience, his family loyalty, his own economic status and his present job.

  I am not aware of any religious faith that blesses greed. So significant reform within the capitalist system is always possible. Growing fascism indicates that moderate " progress " toward social justice does not always win the day .

Before the end of that decade Stalin would make a pack with Hitler on dividing Poland and then order American Communist Party members to support FDR.

  Sad to say but some TV evangelist , an Elmer Gantry type , would attracts millions of viewers by telling them that Jesus wants them to be rich !
  The Catholic Church -for all its flaws- could never produce a FEEL GOOD TV evangelist. And Pope Francis has voiced harsh criticism of " free market " capitalism .
