I read that Bernie Sanders is being scolded by some " liberal " Democrats for calling Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu a " racist reactionary " . Why would working class Americans not want " democratic socialism " ?

To be sure , " democratic socialism " is not anathema to the working class majority in the USA . Nor is it anathema to educated , politically literate middle class Americans( often in FREE FALL since 2008 CRASH ) not poisoned in youth by Cold War , McCarthy era, anti-communist hysteria. Why would struggling working class American voters find a champion in Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Michael Bloomberg ? Why should they HATE the communist revolutionary Fidel Castro ? And just why did " Wall St Hillary " lose the 2016 presidential election with no malicious meddling by Russia's Vladimir Putin ? Let working class Americans have a referendum on rotten capitalism . The very doors of their work place warn : " Abandon All hope You Who Enter Here ".
" Socialist " Bernie could very well tell capitalist bully Donald Trump : " You're fired ! " And it will be " morning in America " again ! Ruling class opinion in both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party- and in the mainstream FAKE NEWS media in the United States - would anathematize the very idea of SOCIALISM in " OUR democracy " .

Critical support for Bernie Sanders justified in 2020

The success of the Bernie Sanders campaign confirms that " democratic socialism " is in the air and on the air and not mindlessly rejected by the now all important younger generation in the USA . But here is one of those nasty " ironies of history ": " democratic socialism " is not at home in the ruling class controlled Democratic Party . SOCIALISM in general is as anathema to its ruling circles as it was in the Cold War era. Yet sectarian Marxist parties - self -appointed VANGUARD parties - are increasingly STALINIST in manner and morals. They reek of a lurking totalitarianism that can never command a working class majority. They too often fail to respect the FREE SPEECH , FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization. Often enough they seem to reject a fundamental principle of any democracy - MAJORITY RULE.
Still in the Bernie Sanders campaign there is indeed " revolutionary " energy which the party establishment want to smother or corrupt. The mainstream news media smears Bernie Sanders with that old McCarthy era crap just as it has smeared plutocrat Donald Trump as a puppet of Russia's Vladimir Putin. Credit Bernie with the character to endure this .
The American ruling class -for unknown reasons - is implacably hostile to post-communist Russia. It would be naive to think this is all about that nuclear power country not living up to the high moral standards of " OUR democracy ". It does seem like Imperial America must have THE ENEMY - even if a different enemy flavor of the month - like China, Iran, North Korea, even little Venezuela. In threatening these EVIL countries WE have friendly allies in the FREE WORLD like Zionist Apartheid Israel and barbaric Saudi Arabia. And a long past history of defending FASCIST dictators .
To the degree that " socialist " Democrat Bernie Sanders talks like the VOICE OF REASON ( in a LUNATIC asylum ! ) he deserves( until the day he endorses with a benign smile plutocrat Michael Bloomberg ) very critical CRITICAL SUPPORT on the Left. Imagine Bernie putting in a good word for Fidel Castro .

                 Back in 2015 I was sufficiently alienated from the Democratic Party to the see pitfalls for " socialist " Bernie  Sanders losing his professed " independence " and colluding with this ruling class controlled party .

                   Today in 2020 there is no way a Democrat presidential candidate can rise above the National Security State cesspool that was once the party of FDR and JFK .  More than a generation ago neo-liberalism - increasingly  obsessed with vicious " identity politics " and vacuous " political correctness " - openly hostile to Christianity and to the Free Speech , Free Thought tradition of Western Civilization- conquered the soul of the Democratic Party .

                Since the shock of  Republican Donald Trump 's 2016 election as president of the United States the Democrats have promoted the HATE RUSSIA , New McCarthyism. Indeed the Kafkaesque Trump impeachment hearings reminded me of the notorious Moscow Trials of the 1930s .

                  Suddenly the Zionist Jew controlled mainstream news media is red-baiting  " democratic socialist " Bernie Sanders ( himself a pro-Israel Jew ) as a Russian oriented " commie " while at the same time weirdly smearing plutocrat Trump as a tool of  Czar Putin in the Kremlin. The New McCarthyism coming back with a vengeance !

                 The FAKE NEWS media seems to forget that Russia is now a post-communist nation.  And to be sure " Our democracy " cannot improve on it in any way .  

                   If Bernie Sanders has any moral and intellectual integrity left as a " democratic socialist ",  he will break with the ruling class Democratic Party - whose inner core reject and anathematize the very idea of SOCIALISM in the USA . To be sure , once again they will sabotage Bernie's " political revolution " ( and with a MASS MOVEMENT behind it )  .

                  The " socialist " Sanders should call for a truly independent party in the USA , somewhat similar to the British Labor Party with deep roots in the country's working class.

                 We need to institutionalize a THREE PARTY SYSTEM in the USA . The Republican party for THE RICH, the Democratic Party for THE MIDDLE CLASS , the American Labor Party for THE WORKING CLASS. This could be more effective than the chaos of violent revolution( always possible, recall the Great French Revolution of 1789 , the Russian Revolution of 1917, the Chinese Revolution of 1949 , the Cuban Revolution of 1959 , and , of course , the American Revolution of 1776 ) .

                For millions of thinking and feeling ( feeling ANGRY as Bernie 's face looks )  working class Americans there is nothing  " freak show " about  the SOCIALIST vision for a SANE SOCIETY . This capitalist America could not survive a month without LIES, FAKE NEWS , and police brutality .

                    Naturally the ruling capitalist class thinks that a world in which they are happy , secure, and privileged - and they no longer THANK GOD for this - is the best of all possible worlds .

                 THEIR educational system almost makes it impossible for intelligent , idealistic young people  even to imagine a better world.  Our New Atheist plutocrats think capitalism is divine; there is no God , you see, but THEY are HIS chosen people !
