. Chris Young should not be ridiculed as a " perennial kook candidate ". The notion that a monopoly of machine Democrats is good for working class people in Rhode Island is beyond ridiculous. Few " progressive " types realize just how reactionary " identity politics " can be.

 If Cicilline were a friend of working class Rhode Island, he would challenge the endless cut backs by our " friend of Hillary " governor, " Wall St. Gina Raimondo." They are hurting especially poor people here and the elderly.

And if you believe in the democratic principle of majority rule, that the voice of the people rules, you will be appalled by the low voter turn out.I don't blame the voters for being so turned off -even in local politics.

I hope Bernie Sanders at least planted the seeds of " political revolution " here in Rhode Island last April by humiliating the Clinton/ Raimondo political machine.

It is rather obvious that Hillary Clinton can appeal to traditional Republicans because she has shifted the Democratic Party to the right while pretending to be deferential to Bernie Sanders supporters and on board his " political revolution ". The Hillary Democrats sound like a neo-con War Party to any " progressive " not delusional about his or her " progressive " politics.

Hillary has smeared the working class supporters of Donald Trump as backward " deplorables " - which makes no sense at all , and would imply that the Civil Rights Movement of the 60s was a dismal failure. " Identity politics " is becoming creepy in its sinister fruits.

" Socialist " Democrat Bernie Sanders was wiser to focus on unacceptable economic inequality. He should have told his supporters to " vote your conscience ."

" Never Hillary " sounds fine to me. So does " Never Trump ".

The " surplus funds " go to Corporate America interests and to the military - to defend the New Colonialism in the Middle East , to threaten war with China and Russia.

Don't forget that " socialist " Democrat Bernie Sanders humiliated the Clinton-Raimondo machine in the Democratic Primary last April.

 From " Silent Spring " to drab Fall. In that miserable August Heat I watched with an old friend an old Twilight Zone episode titled " The Midnight Sun ".

 Whatever the best " scientific " explanation " for global climate change it is clear that indifferent Nature will not save objective reality denying homo sapiens.

 And our capitalist economic system - base on self-centered greed - is not prepared for inevitable catastrophe-natural or man made.

For me the best of Fall has been experienced and viewed in the area around the Scituate Reservoir.
