This right wing inspired mania for privatizing -running everything and anything as a FOR PROFIT business needs to be checked and condemned by citizens with a spark of COMMUNITY SPIRIT left in their souls.
The Ayn Rand crowd does not want the much maligned STATE to serve any but BUSINESS ends. The HELPING HAND of the Roosevelt New Deal just infuriates them. They want the STATE to be just what the Russian revolutionary genius said it was : a gang of armed men in the service of the wealthy ruling class ( Lenin ) .
They want to privatize prisons- making money on human misery and INCREASING the prison population. They want to privatize social security and Medicare- denying it as a human right.
They want to make life more comfortable and secure for the most self-serving, selfish, USELESS people on earth- our ONE PERCENT plutocracy.
In truth, WE don't need THEM ! Bernie Sanders for president ?

  Just elected , LIBERAL , Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau -and beautiful wife and kid-does bring glamour and excitement back to your country after years of CONSERVATIVE stinginess ,dreariness, and boredom.

         But I am also reminded of our Camelot leader, John F. Kennedy, in 1960. Mostly charm , soap bubble inspiration, literate humor- and  just reformist threats to capitalist business as usual.
          One soundly " progressive " intention: no civilized country can afford-in the long run-to ignore its " infrastructure ". Deficit spending is not a  violation of sacrosanct economic sanity.
       No socialist would consider the military budget sacrosanct, nor the " police state " budget, nor debt obligations to the ONE PERCENT.
    The natural wealth and resources of a great and beautiful country like Canada  do not disappear with demise of the insane and greedy plutocracy.
         Is there a Canadian Bernie Sanders waiting in the wings ?

    The ABCs of CLASS STRUGGLE certainly apply to modern Israel. It is not anti-Semitism to assert that not even a bourgeois democracy can tolerate an exclusive ethnic-religious identity. We have ACLU lawyers in America-proud of their Jewish heritage-who are starry eyed over this JEWISH state. No serious socialist would worship ANY nation state-certainly not Zionist, apartheid Israel. There should be an ACLU equivalent in Israel.
The United Nations was right way back in 1975 to declare Zionism a form of racism. Almost every "liberal " Democrat subscribes to the notion that anti-Zionism is a form of racism.
Too many left-wing Jewish" intellectuals " have become besotted with Zionism.They have lost their " socialist " souls.
I can appreciate the courage of the late Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky who support the human rights of the oppressed Palestinians.
Many Republicans are inspired by Ayn Rand Thought even on the question of " our special relationship with Israel ". The author of the " Virtue of Selfishness " thought the Palestinians were " inferior " to the arrogant Jewish settlers. Talk about " racism " !

    Democratic socialists around the world call for a return to the socialist ideal in both China and Russia. Capitalism works for the ONE PERCENT but has FAILED 80 percent of the human race.
Naturally, the ruling class thinks that a world in which they are on top is the best of all possible worlds. I never met a working class person who could not easily be convinced of the rottenness of capitalism. How many workers hate their jobs and hate the boss ?
The system is doomed because millions -who know what CLASS STRUGGLE is- hate it.
Nothing lasts forever-not even the stock market.Like the old Southern slave masters, the modern day capitalists will soon be GONE WITH THE WIND.And good riddance to them !
