@Ron Ruggieri, that's not what I said, is it? I was responding to the "respect the human race" comment. Get it right or don't comment.

Your last sentence shows how foolish you really are. Fine. Next time sit next to a puking drunk, a crackhead trying to hit you up for cash, or a rude and out of line passenger. They're plentiful and the drivers, for the most part, try to keep them off the bus so they don't bother you.

Any compassion for the driver who was cold-cocked 2 weeks ago ...... 

@Ernie Zielinski.... Did this woman show any lack of respect ? Or did she just not want to miss the bus ? Read the witness comments I have copied above. Does that change your mind about THIS incident ?
My brother Mike is a retired RIPTA bus driver. I will get his slant on this.

@Ralph Mace... On 630 WPRO radio this morning Scott Avedisian seemed to show a " blame the victim " attitude in this RIPTA bus tragedy. To be sure, we need a lot more FACTS here.
Would the RIPTA chairman of the board have had a different tone had the victim lived on the more affluent East Side ? These people can afford the best lawyers.
By the way, I am a RIPTA regular. I see a few things.

@Ernie Zielinski That poor woman who was CRUSHED should have taken a RIPTA passenger training course at CCRI-for two college credits? Since when should RIPTA encourage a callous attitude in its drivers toward difficult passengers

@Pam I am a RIPTA regular. And you are so right. But the bus drivers must be permitted to exercise their own judgment in any particular situation. I can see an immediate effort to BLAME THE VICTIM here. That poor young woman nearly crushed to death under the Broad Street bus.

“We were sitting there waiting for the bus, the bus driver stopped before it so she didn’t see it at first, but when he started to leave she got up and put her finger up, saying ‘stop, let me on, because you’re not even at the bus stop yet so you have to let me on,'” June Vargas recalled. “So she knocked on the door, he hit the gas, and I guess the pressure from underneath spun her around.”

“She was banging on the bus so she could get on, and he just kept going slowly and then he ran right over her, and he had to stop because everyone was screaming,” said Pauline Goss, who had just gotten off the bus... "

  Famous lawyer Alan Dershowitz made a headline earlier in the month : " Charges against Baltimore cops won't stick ". The arrogant , obnoxious Dershowitz went on to say: " Under our Constitution the only people entitled to justice are the defendants ". He must have been dreaming he was being consulted about a case in Israel-where Palestinians also have dubious legal rights.Let the  Baltimore cops hire this LIBERAL Democrat.

Our ruling class is FREE to leave anytime they wish to get cheap labor.The world is their oyster-and they could not care less about the American working class-except for cannon fodder in their insane wars. We lost Iraq just as we lost Vietnam. Do you think American soldiers will ever be honored there ? Perhaps a monument outside the Abu Ghraib prison ? Before enlisting every American kid should read Dalton Trumbo's anti-war classic " Johnny Got His Gun ". What a waste !
