Inspired from youth by Albert Camus' sense of the Absurd, I try to be a voice for REASON in the growing darkness and moral insanity of global capitalism .

New Poll Shows Socialism is Popular with Young Americans, Including Repu... [ The essence of SOCIALISM today cannot be just ANTI-CAPITALISM ]
As a long time independent democratic socialist I am pleased to learn that brainwashing Capitalism, American imperialism & Israeli Zionism USA has not completely rotted the critical thinking skills of a fresh young generation. But the various Marxist " vanguard " parties still breathing have been corroded by dogmatism and the remnants of Stalinism for more than a hundred years. And they only increase the revulsion of ordinary working class people by also continuing with the " officially atheist " tradition of totalitarian " communist " states.
Sadly, there are ridiculous " Clears " in Marxist " vanguard " political cults just as in the " Church of Scientology ". Too many socialists today talk as if the essence of their socialism is just anti-capitalism . But where is the inspiring VISION of a better , happier , saner world ?
To be sure , no UTOPIA is possible in a crowded world of 8 billion human beings . And most likely a socialist society might not be anymore able to " correct " the riffraff " lumpenproletariat ", inseparable from the masses, than a fascist society.
But real socialism can check a lot of preventable human misery . It can make this world a lot saner , more just, far less stinking with destitution . The secular " scientific " socialism formulated by Marx and Engels as early as 1848 ( read " Socialism -Utopian and Scientific " ) can, it now seems , not make the world much better than applied Catholic social philosophy . But that is still : " One great step for mankind " .
