The experience of my now rather long life is that WORKING CLASS people are almost never turned off by the SOCIALIST vision of a saner , more just economic-social-political system. For nearly 200 years great minds have endorsed the Marxist explanation of capitalist exploitation and oppression. And the social philosophy of the Catholic Church comes close to the socialist ideal. You can not expect the capitalist mainstream news media in the United States to give third party socialists a fair hearing. The distortions of " socialism " in different nation-states like Russia, North Korea, and China are well explained by socialists themselves. The evil of Stalinism , for example, was brilliantly explained by the great Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky in his book " The Revolution Betrayed " . Philistine sophists never tired of telling working class people that " socialism can't work ". For working class people and much of the middle class in the United States today CAPITALISM does not work. And capitalism combined with American imperialism in a together-forever alliance with Israeli Zionism gives us a world on the brink of nuclear World War III with POST-COMMUNIST Russia . Does that make any sense ? Does our proxy war with Russia over a dubiously " sovereign " Ukraine, led by the puffed -up NATO " hero " warmonger V. Zelensky, make any sense ? Is there one audible voice for world peace in today's WOKE WARRIOR Democratic Party led by corrupt, senile , creepy , " Sleepy Joe " Biden ? Are the MAGA-Republicans led by Donald Trump any more rational and restrained in international affairs ? Clearly the TWO PARTY SYSTEM is crumbling . Election 2024 only promises to be a collective nightmare. In a humble way , himself a " Profile in Courage " , Robert F. Kennedy is a voice of sanity . Yet the mainstream news media blackballs him and smears him as a fanatical " kook " . " OUR democracy " in action!
