Critical support for Bernie Sanders justified in 2020

The success of the Bernie Sanders campaign confirms that " democratic socialism " is in the air and on the air and not mindlessly rejected by the now all important younger generation in the USA . But here is one of those nasty " ironies of history ": " democratic socialism " is not at home in the ruling class controlled Democratic Party . SOCIALISM in general is as anathema to its ruling circles as it was in the Cold War era. Yet sectarian Marxist parties - self -appointed VANGUARD parties - are increasingly STALINIST in manner and morals. They reek of a lurking totalitarianism that can never command a working class majority. They too often fail to respect the FREE SPEECH , FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization. Often enough they seem to reject a fundamental principle of any democracy - MAJORITY RULE.
Still in the Bernie Sanders campaign there is indeed " revolutionary " energy which the party establishment want to smother or corrupt. The mainstream news media smears Bernie Sanders with that old McCarthy era crap just as it has smeared plutocrat Donald Trump as a puppet of Russia's Vladimir Putin. Credit Bernie with the character to endure this .
The American ruling class -for unknown reasons - is implacably hostile to post-communist Russia. It would be naive to think this is all about that nuclear power country not living up to the high moral standards of " OUR democracy ". It does seem like Imperial America must have THE ENEMY - even if a different enemy flavor of the month - like China, Iran, North Korea, even little Venezuela. In threatening these EVIL countries WE have friendly allies in the FREE WORLD like Zionist Apartheid Israel and barbaric Saudi Arabia. And a long past history of defending FASCIST dictators .
To the degree that " socialist " Democrat Bernie Sanders talks like the VOICE OF REASON ( in a LUNATIC asylum ! ) he deserves( until the day he endorses with a benign smile plutocrat Michael Bloomberg ) very critical CRITICAL SUPPORT on the Left. Imagine Bernie putting in a good word for Fidel Castro .
