Comment on:
Russia's Catholics reflect on centenary of Lenin's bloody revolution
Submitted

As a democratic socialist I have always appreciated the positive side of the Russian Revolution of 1917-ending capitalism and Czarist oppression in Russia in " Ten Days that Shook the World ".

In no way did the collapse of the Soviet Union ( 1991 ) and the restoration of private property relations in the means of production improve life for the vast majority of working class Russians.

Today a wealthy oligarchy led by Vladimir Putin rules the country- in the same way that the Trump Junta and the American plutocracy rule America.

The biggest mistake the old Bolsheviks made was to persecute religion and make the state officially atheist. There is a religious instinct in the masses. Let science and religion coexist.
