More ugly violence at Donald Trump rally

Trump rally incident -out of the Weimar Republic of Germany ?

" John Franklin McGraw was charged with assault and disorderly conduct in the incident.". Superficially this brute fan of Donald Trump looks like a " type " : angry white, middle aged male.

Also a " blue collar " type ? . A supporter of " socialist " Democrat Bernie Sanders would say that the man's explosive anger has a CLASS basis- white working class people have been ignored by both the Democrats and Republicans for decades now. What can " identity politics " do for this John Franklin McGraw ?

Incipient fascism looks for scapegoats for both confused working class and ruined middle class victims of decaying capitalism.

Any political crowd has its own equivalent of the Freudian " id ". It reacts fiercely to " symbols " -like the American flag. The vulgar " finger " is also the emotional equivalent of the n-word. Try using it randomly on a uniformed soldier or a police officer . You do risk a trip to the hospital emergency room.

The economic inequality in this " democracy " has also " crossed a line."The " class struggle " rises above individual thugs and two bit political demagogues.

Some practical advice : " do not follow a crowd to do evil".

Also , it must be a kind of euphoria to be drunk in an angry crowd- like at. Fenway Park or Yankee Stadium. Always " root, root, root for the home team... if they don't win it's a shame ! ".
Who said " violence is as American as apple pie " ?

[    Lukensmeyer fears incidents like this represent a dark turn in American politics. "We're now seeming to cross a line where the commitment to plurality and civil society is being lost," she said. "We're crossing lots of lines here and lots of Americans are increasingly disturbed by it." ]
