As
a democratic socialist myself and a registered Democratic in Rhode
Island I have every intention of voting for " socialist " Democrat
Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
The supporters of Bernie are more
than just left progressives. Whatever vitality and idealism is left in
the Democratic Party belongs to the " feel the Bern " crowd.
Let the party hacks coronate Hillary. The irony of American politics has probably assigned Bernie Sanders the same role as it has assigned Republican Donald Trump- a focal point for the anti-establishment Angry Voter of 2016.
Many Bernie Sanders supporters are no more inclined to vote for Hillary than Trump fans are to vote for Jeb Bush. CHANGE is the law of life. Not even our two party system is forever. Not even our capitalist " American Way of Life " is forever.
Presently I wink at Jill Stein , the presidential candidate of the Green Party.
