A
corrupt union leadership - with none of the fire and fury of the great
union leaders of the past- has been pimping for liberal, " friend of
labor " Democrats for many decades now.
They throw their union support
to these phony liberals without the consent of the union rank and file,
with contempt for internal union democracy.
They have no ideological
clarity or any sense of " class stuggle " history. They made their peace
with capitalism very early in life -as ambitious social climbers
themselves.
Even moderate " democratic socialist " Bernie Sanders seems
too extreme for these predictable sell outs.
In truth , the American working class needs its own party, a mass party similar to the British Labor Party- with no illusions of the benevolence or the stability of global capitalism.
Working class Americans have no objective interest in a police state at home or imperialism abroad. And they cannot be complacent about the destruction of the Good Earth.
Their children need " A Future to Hope
In ". They do " feel the Bern "- if not stupefied by the right-wing
demagogue Donald Trump.The betrayal of the working class will have
horrible consequences.
Even The Donald predicts chaos and possible
violence- if no populist candidate emerges by Labor Day.
