So Marco Rubio made a big play for religious voters ? As a democratic
Socialist ( now smiling at Bernie Sanders ) I am amazed how ALL these
Republicans can " doublethink " ( Orwell, " 1984 " ) their admiration
for BOTH Jesus Christ and Ayn Rand, the " Sermon on the Mount " with "
The Virtue of Selfishness ". Does Pope Francis and his anti-capitalist
sermons resonate with the politics of Catholic Rubio and Catholic Jeb
Bush ?
The social philosophy of the Catholic Church- long before Pope Francis- makes " socialist " Bernie Sanders look like a repressed liberal.
Does not the RIGHT TO LIFE also suggest a " progressive " opposition to foolish, ENDLESS wars and to the death penalty ? A more generous attitude toward this NO LONGER MIDDLE CLASS country's numerous " underclass " ?
In capitalist America the right to life amounts to little more -for millions- than the right to a hell of a life.
Only a very low voter turn out in November will let these very unrepresentative Republicans re-conquer the White House. Atlas will shrug at their inevitable defeat.
