Russia's Vladimir Putin more worthy of Nobel Peace Prize than President Obama

A leftist, antiwar friend of mine -we are both American citizens- laughed over our common feeling that Vladimir Putin is more worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize than Barack Obama. And should not modern Russia have the equivalent of our famous Monroe Doctrine ? This business of " making the world safe for democracy " was discredited more than 100 years ago. We recall the Canton Speech of American socialist Eugene V.Debs.
Oddly enough ,among " liberal " Democrats running for president only our ex-governor of Rhode Island, Lincoln Chafee, is a true peace candidate. He opposed the invasion and occupation of Iraq- " the greatest foreign policy blunder in U.S. history ". And just recently the U.S. military bombed and destroyed the Doctors Without Borders trauma hospital in Afghanistan- a horrible war crime, said a United Nations official.
What if the U.S. ruling class started a war-but nobody showed up ? And now they have no moral authority whatever to lead a " war against terrorism " anywhere  on earth.
