This was a fairly written article on hapless Democrat, pacifist
candidate for president Lincoln Chafee. Scott Mackay avoids the rat pack
attack on the guy. The crude truth is that the U.S. military is once
again preparing for a ground war in Iraq. And it is already-with Harpy
Hillary leading the pack-guaranteed to have two-party support. Oddly
enough " plutocrat " Lincoln Chafee 's anti-war disposition has deeper
roots and more rational passion than any words of " socialist " Bernie
Sanders on the prospect of future U.S. military action.
There is something far more sinister behind the flood of mockery of Lincoln Chafee than his own less than charismatic political personality. The U.S. ruling class has no tolerance -within itself- for a " respectable " dissenting voice on its criminal, imperialist wars.
" Socialist " Bernie Sanders claims to admire Eugene V. Debs. He should ponder Debs' famous Canton Speech- in which Debs opposed America's entry into the Great War - the war to make the world safe for democracy.
