" Hope of Heaven " and the New Atheism

Drunken Kentucky man digs up father's grave  This man still grieves for his dead father and his " hope of heaven " has turned irrational. He is not a criminal-just mentally ill. This line about religion making people" stupid " -in  a world where most people are " religious "- is the party line of the New Atheism.
       The New Atheists are mostly  libertarian snobs-not socialists.  They worship  Ayn Rand and Holy Capitalism.
        I think Saint Thomas Aquinas and Saint Augustine had keener intellects-and warmer hearts-than these New Atheists.
     A neighbor and friend-now fighting bone cancer-was " fascinated " by a library book titled " Proof of Heaven ".
         I did a book review search. The author was a money making charlatan. My neighbor is still  a beautiful old Polish Catholic woman.The New Atheists would not see the difference.
       Monday night I will show up for the wake of my brother-in-law's  beloved mother. I expect to hear a lot about her being in heaven now. Could any decent person be sarcastic at a wake ? I wonder where New Atheist-now dead- Christopher Hitchens is now. Is there HOPE for him ? He said that " God is not great... and religion poisons everything ".
