As a democratic Socialist I have been convinced for years that
American " democracy " is mostly democracy for America's ruling class.
This plutocratic class is more and more nervous about losing control of
even " bourgeois democracy ". So we see them wanting to rule America
DIRECTLY. Check out all the millionaires in the U.S. Congress. How can
they possibly identify with the common people ?
The plutocracy with their parade of bombastic " strong leaders "( just listen to Donald Trump ) are setting the stage for American fascism.Unless the American people make Washington, D.C. look like Cairo Egypt in 2011, they will succeed in completely destroying what is left of " representative " democracy.
Hillary's turn toward the American working class is a sign of ruling class fear that the alienation of common people in this country might create a political crisis in the presidential election of 2016.
Soon " socialism " will no longer be a dirty word here in the U.S.A. Thank Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont for that.
Oddly enough, Ralph Nader is still more " radical " than Bernie. He wants a break from the two party system.And has just called for an end to the very undemocratic Electoral College.
