This letter-to-the editor of the Providence Journal ( June 17 ) is just pure New
Atheism Catholic bashing.Is every priest on earth, every minister, every
rabbi deranged because they believe they have a " vocation " , a
calling by God ? By the way, the ubiquitous VOICE OF SCIENCE a while back
, Neil deGrasse Tyson , suggested that Catholics were also dumber than
scientologists for their reverence for the Holy Eucharist . Imagine
thinking that mere bread and wine were the body and blood of Jesus
Christ ? As a matter of fact the science genius Albert Einstein was
fascinated by the Catholic doctrine of the Eucharist. He never stopped
wondering about the Mind of God.
Nothing " insane " about Platonic Ideas- a bit mystical perhaps.But the Catholic Church learned to co-exist with Science many years ago.
