An incredibly depressing thought

I commend both Lincoln Chafee and Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont for entering the U.S. presidential race. Hillary is too much an old " neo-Democrat ". In opposing Bush's disastrous Iraq War, Lincoln Chafee was indeed a profile in courage. He is a man of principle in his ardent rejection of the state death penalty. He insisted on the principle of separation of church and state in his unwavering support for gay marriage.
I don't think Bernie Sanders can sell " socialism " to the wealthy Lincoln Chafee or the Democratic Party. But the cause of socialism was never hurt by plain honesty. As the famous psychiatrist Sigmund Freud said the voice of Reason is weak but very persistent and sooner or later it gets a hearing.
