Ricky, our " Forever Big Brother " , as boy growing up in the early 1950s was inspired by TV shows like " Rocky Jones Space Ranger ". Ricky and pal Bob LaChance never lost their interest in rocket ships and flying and both were licensed private pilots by the age of 16 . Pop made us a rather crude life size rocket ship kept in our 315 california Ave. cellar and Bob La Chance's father , a very creative guy ( also like our Pop a local radio station celebrity ) made Bob a much more sophisticated rocket ship kept in their backyard garage ( number NX-211 -guess who ? ) . I took a number of trips to the Moon and to Mar's in the La Chance space ship .
