As a member of the older generation ,recalling the dark side of the Tumultuous Sixties ( and an independent democratic socialist and a PRE-VATICAN II type Catholic ) I can only hope that any religious revivalism in GEN Z does not reconcile them to global capitalism , American imperialism, and Israeli Zionism. In the past leaders of organized religion- itself innocent and benevolent enough - were corrupted by tyrants and ruling classes with their own evil agendas . Catholic social philosophy and the Catholic Faithful- and yes, Jesus Christ Himself, were always above perfidious priests , bishops , cardinals ,and popes ( while THE SAINTS were very special specimens of human goodness ) . THE ROCK of Peter remains .
