As long time independent democratic socialist and a pre-Vatican II type Old Catholic I read ,with equanimity, both Karl Marx and Thomas Aquinas and Saint Augustine's " City of God ". Reading mitigated by H.P. Lovecraft's " COSMIC HORROR " .
