A study published March 30, 2011 titled "Religious Factors & Hippocampal Atrophy in Late Life" shows that Religion causes the brain to be atrophied from lack of use. Religious experiences shrink part of the brain. Religion doesn't like it when their followers think. A neuroendocrinologist named Robert Sapolsky, a professor at Stanford University says religion is a mental illness. He's compared religion to a shared schizophrenia, argued that the behaviors exhibited by "prophets" in religious texts are diagnosable acts.
