Inspired from youth by Albert Camus' sense of the Absurd, I try to be a voice for REASON in the growing darkness and moral insanity of global capitalism .

Zionism: Socialist, Fascist, or Something Else? Israel's Swing from Left...
As a long time independent democratic socialist I wonder if a whole new generation of Jews attached to Zionism and APARTHEID Israel have simply forgotten their own " socialist " past ? I read American socialist writer Irving Howe's impressive book " World of Our Fathers " which records the history of Jewish involvement in the organized labor movement during the Great Depression Years in the United States . The fact is from the beginning ZIONISM was incompatible with the ideal of socialist internationalism. Any nation state with an ethnocentric foundation is a mockery even of bourgeois democracy .
Nowadays it is hard to find any " public intellectual " Jew who does not think that socialism is anti-Semitic . In " OUR democracy " these hawkish Zionist Jews try to keep a " progressive " veneer by sticking with the Democratic Party. But ironically they have created its annoying WOKE WARRIOR atmosphere - a sure loser in Election 2024 USA .
I like what popular science writer Isaac Asimov had to say about Israel decades ago :
[ "I am frequently asked if I have visited Israel, whereas yet, it is simply assumed that I have. Well, I don’t travel. I really don’t, and if I did, I probably wouldn’t visit Israel. I remember how it was in 1948 when Israel was being established and all my Jewish friends were ecstatic, I was not. I said: what are we doing? We are establishing ourselves in a ghetto, in a small corner of a vast Muslim sea. The Muslims will never forget nor forgive, and Israel, as long as it exists, will be embattled. I was laughed at, but I was right. I can’t help but feel that the Jews didn’t really have the right to appropriate a territory only because 2000 years ago, people they consider their ancestors, were living there. History moves on and you can’t really turn it back." ]
