The American ruling class plutocracy in " OUR democracy " is as hostile today toward POST-COMMUNIST Russia and Putin's " oligarchy " as it was for 70 years toward the " communist " Russia of Lenin, Stalin, and the rest of their " Cold War " leaders.. And American imperialism is becoming increasingly hostile to many other " Axis of Evil " nation-states and indeed even to long time allies. War is always a function of society's ruling class . Working class people never plan or start wars. They are only slaughtered in them. Our mainstream news media-not with Wilsonian blather that was false more than century ago - will never succeed in arousing war fever in the now super-cynical American working class. We think : " THEIR interests are not OUR interests ! " Our American ruling class invariably starts wars with an unctuous, sanctimonious , and mostly FALSE, defense of its military operations [ " Remember The Maine ! " ... " Make The World Safe For Democracy " ... " The Four Freedoms " ( never practiced here to any significant degree ) ] .
