But here QUANTITY becomes QUALITY indeed : once you have acquired enough money to hire human labor on the " free market " instead of selling YOUR labor -physical and mental - on the " free market " , that MONEY has become effectively CAPITAL and you cannot pretend to be just a regular guy in American " democracy ". In " OUR democracy " organized labor leaders are corrupted by the false doctrine that the interests of CAPITAL and LABOR are inherently harmonious and identical . No blue collar worker, with factory doors slamming behind him, can think for very long on the job that he or she is " one of the "Corporate America " family . THEIR capitalist system is based on the exploitation of working class people and THEIR state is fundamentally a tool of CLASS oppression . So any serious STRIKE is viewed as a mortal threat to THEIR economic and political system. Any working class person knows without attending lectures on the " Communist Manifesto " that there are TWO CLASSES . The SOCIALIST movement would be hopeless if it has to CONVINCE working people that they are exploited on the job and oppressed by the capitalist state. A Marxist political organization or " vanguard party " can only " connect the dots " for them. And record the long history of Capital vs. labor wars. For more than 100 years most Marxist " vanguard " parties have -sad to say- degenerated into personality cults not unlike the notorious " Church of Scientology ". The question remains : Can the working class ever become the ruling class ? Or are the modern WAGE SLAVES like the victims of ancient slavery who never could overthrow the ancient slave masters ? Recall the American Civil war: the Black slaves of the Old South were finally freed ( for WAGE SLAVERY ! ) by the military might of the North .
