For more than a century Marxists have made the point that WE THE PEOPLE have a choice between SOCIALISM or barbarism. In what way ( look around the world ) is American capitalist-imperialism and Israeli-capitalist Zionism preserving Western Civilization ? By nuclear World War III with POST-COMMUNIST Russia ? By co-operating in genocide in Gaza, Palestine ? In hoarding the wealth and resources of the world ? In ruining the lives of countless working class and lower middle class people ? How on Earth does less than ONE PERCENT of the population end up with 90 percent of the wealth ? By working harder and being " smarter " than everybody else ? Karl Marx gave " civilization " a more cogent explanation of the profit system in  "Das Kapital " .
