I almost missed the opportunity to sign on here in Rhode Island for presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy. I did arrive at the corner of Atwells Ave. and Sutton St in Providence just in time. I did sign on as a registered voter in Cranston, Rhode Island. Then I asked if I could phone photo my signature. I was told that would violate privacy rights. I wonder how can anybody sign papers for any candidate for public office and expect to be anonymous ? Also I wondered why the signature gathering was limited to one hour. The campaign organizers could have picked a better location for gathering signatures in Providence. In general I sensed that the RFK Jr. operation in Rhode Island was weak. Is he playing to compete as an INDEPENDENT ? Or is RFK Jr. playing to lose ?
As a longtime independent democratic socialist I see " INDEPENDENT " RFK Jr. as a lesser LESSER EVIL . He would have more recognition in history if he used his " independent " 2024 presidential campaign to organize an American Labor Party -like the British Labor Party but less stuffy and compromised. I give him only " critical support " as I did " socialist " Bernie Sanders in 2016.
