Matter is frozen light. A conversation with Rupert Sheldrake & Mark Vernon

Philosopher Rupert Sheldrake seems to think that modern science is mired in " materialism ". I know that IDEALIST philosophy is more favorable to religious faith ( the biggest mistake of the old Soviet Union was not SOCIALISM. It was religious intolerance, making the state " officially atheist ". Nevertheless, the Marxist " fanatic " (? ) Lenin made a cogent case against IDEALIST philosophy in his now very obscure book titled " Materialism and Empiro Criticism ". Can this IDEALIST philosophy -even if it has certain metaphysical truth - lead to progress in practical science and technology ? And was Lenin right in associating it with a reactionary political outlook ? I found explanations of dialectical materialism very enlightening ( at some point ,for example, QUANTITY becomes QUALITY ) . But also enlightening are the classic Catholic theologians , Saint Augustine and Thomas Aquinas. I also understand why Aristotle ( a gifted biologist ) is getting more much deserved respect. I recall a humorous Catholic scholar on his local TV program saying that an " open mind " may not be more of an asset than " open mouth " - it must bite down on something and then assimilate it, connecting it with with well established knowledge. What I have found obnoxious for years now is the arrogant rudeness of the New Atheism movement. It seems to be promoted and patronized ( perhaps even funded ) by secular ZIONIST Jews with an unbalanced hatred for the Islamic faith. You will see what I mean if you read Christopher Hitchens nasty book titled : " God Is Not Great - how religions poisons everything ". Oddly enough, Hitchens started out as fanatic of Trotskyism . As a hopeless drunk ( scorned by leftist author Gore Vidal ) Hitchens later went over to American imperialism ( in Iraq ) and proudly ( he discovered a Jewish grandmother ! ) embraced Israeli Zionism. So clearly, militant atheism does not necessarily make you less muddle-headed as a HUMAN being. Even charlatan celebrity Christian fundamentalist preacher Joel Osteen gets some things right. Best wishes to philosopher Rupert Sheldrake !
