There are still vast sections of Rome today where the ancient Glory of Empire is seen in the poetry of ruins . Very possibly our civilization - among other internal contradictions - has just grown too big for its bridges ( not enough readily available resources to sustain the infrastructure ). Will the Empire State Building , for example , be the equivalent in its future condition of the Roman Colosseum ? VISITORS AND TOURISTS STILL WELCOME ?
