" OUR democracy " - long may it waver !

No " celebrity " journalist in capitalist America is above his or her ruling class employers. They are free to reflect the ideas and opinions of whoever in the plutocracy employs them. So much for the FREE SPEECH, FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization in " OUR democracy ". What our college educated elite mostly absorb -apart from specialized or professional knowledge - is essentially the BRAINWASHING of their forever " betters ". So they can't even IMAGINE a better social-economic system than CAPITALISM . And this also applies to our ambitious politicians . Democrat or Republican, none of them ( who actually experience philistine " success " ) dare think outside the box of crazy capitalism and insane American imperialism. A key to understand what the mainstream news media wants you to think is a pithy remark of Karl Marx back in 1848 : " The ruling ideas are the ideas of the ruling class ". Just ask NBC's congenial host Chuck Todd ! No surprise that Republican Donald Trump has personally banned SOCIALISM in the United States. But so has the inner circle of the WOKE WARRIOR Democratic Party. Note that in our times even the old fashioned newspaper columnist - who could at least, now and then , be interesting and relevant and humane - is passing from the scene. Our local Providence Journal won't even publish their own editorials anymore. As if ANY honestly held opinion is a threat to PROFITS ! " OUR democracy " - long may it waver !
