No surprise that Albert Einstein turned down an offer of the presidency of Israel

@JazzATrain The ancient history lecture here only obfuscates the moral and political contradictions of modern Zionist APARTHEID Israel. Any single racial or ethnic group making an EXCLUSIVE claim on any area of the GOOD EARTH makes a mockery even of bourgeois democracy. Also, years ago the United Nations condemned Israeli Zionism as a form of racism. I recently read Albert Einstein's thoughts on Zionism in his book titled " Ideas and Opinions ". Back in 1948 Einstein supported the Zionist movement ( and even turned down an offer of the presidency of Israel ) . But he was soon a critical supporter concerned about fairness to the Palestinians. And it seems from his writing that it was very colonialist Great Britain which in the very beginning separated Jews from Palestinians . " Divide and Conquer " , thought Einstein. As a non-Jew myself I can only agree with the popular science writer Isaac Asimov ( quoted in my post ). I don't think a SEPARATE Palestinian state is a good idea . It would place two conflicting cultures side by side. Here the United States ( ideally , of course ) offers some inspiration : " EX-PLURIBUS UNUM ".
