Capitalist America cannot accommodate a relatively small proportion of the population ? Is there some character test that you fail in order to be judged unworthy of a civilized roof over your head ? Imprisoned criminals get more respect ! I recall a famous O 'Henry short story titled " The Cop and the Anthem ". The character, homeless " Soapy ," kept trying to get arrested ( in order to get through the long cold, New York City winter ) .
