I hope Providence's new Mayor Smiley has more plebian common sense than Elorza

I note that Brett Smiley was sworn in not outside Providence City Hall but at the more dignified Providence Public Library. With sordid filthy Kennedy Plaza right under his nose -with homeless people sleeping on the steps of City Hall - why was WOKE , " progressive " Democrat Mayor Elorza so obtuse about responding to this major embarrassment to the city of Providence ? RIPTA was just as responsible . They could not even - once a month ! - clean up the piles of disgusting trash and cigarette butts. Yes , indeed : WELCOME TO PROVIDENCE ! I hope Mayor Smiley has more plebian common sense . But so much for HOPE in corrupt ONE PARTY Rhode Island .
