On Talk Radio 630WPRO Rachel Miller is characterized by callers as one of those FAR LEFT WOKE Democrats perhaps allied to the Bernie Sanders " socialist " wing of the Democratic Party. To be sure ,there is nothing wrong about identifying with HAVE NOTS and the racially and ethnically oppressed in American capitalist society. But as a long time independent democratic socialist I am annoyed by a news media which is willfully ignorant of ABCs of SOCIALISM and just what constitutes a MARXIST point of view. Orthodox Marxists would have nothing to do with years of fanatical IDENTITY POLITICS on the so called Left. It seems that in the year 2022 even the Chinese Communists have forgotten the very language of Marx's " Communist Manifesto ". And none of their POLITICS can be connected with the Engels classic " Socialism -Utopian and Scientific ". In general the " progressive " Left in the United States and around the world - since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991- has self-lobotomized on the subject of CLASS STRUGGLE and CLASS consciousness. IDENTITY POLITICS has filled the void. Believe it or not the world famous " I AM PROVIDENCE " horror writer H.P. Lovecraft at the time of his death in 1937 was very much a democratic socialist ( supporting Norman Thomas ) NOT any white supremacist FASCISM . I doubt very much if Rachel Miller will begin to discuss the crisis of American capitalism in the 21st century and apply SOCIALIST insights to decaying , depressed, almost hopeless PROVIDENCE , RHODE ISLAND in  the coming years.
