Yes, " Don't Trust Anybody Over Thirty " ? The wisdom of it reconsidered

The mainstream news media will NEVER connect a major social problem like this - FOOD FOR INFANTS ! - with the fundamental irrationality and unfairness of the CAPITALIST system , with a superstitious belief in the wisdom of the FREE MARKET. All the bought and sold politicians in the Congress of the United States - Democrats and Republicans - are screened out very early in their careers for a negative attitude toward FOR PROFIT enterprise. No doubt even in college , university , law school , they are WARNED not show much CRITICAL THINKING SKILL on the subject of sacrosanct PRIVATE PROPERTY . There was what I thought was a rather dumb slogan in the early part of the Tumultuous Sixties : " Don't Trust Anybody Over Thirty ". Now at age 74 I can see the kernel of wisdom in it . A few years into their precious careers most ambitious , social climbing graduates of higher education institutions in the United States have forgotten or deeply repressed any serious social criticism of the capitalist system they once encountered. To be sure , no serious SOCIALISM can survive in the Democratic Party . So when they run for public office on the city , state , or national level they only have to offer as a SOLUTION to serious social ills their narcissistic PERSONALITY charms and their touching SELF-APPRECIATION to the voters . " Vote for ME as I am so much NICER than my opponent ". And how can YOU know this ? Just TRUST the darlings !
