So many COMMENTS TURNED OFF on this topic of AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ( openly asserted ) for federal judges and Supreme Court nominees. All the WOKE Democrats falsely jubilant over elevated Black persons who will serve the CORPORATE AMERICA just as faithfully as any ambitious social climbers in " OUR democracy " with a now odious aura of WHITE PRIVILEGE about them. A victory for ALL women , you say ? But no, you must not say THAT !
Speaking as a democratic socialist - not a fan of Donald Trump- I view politics in America from a CLASS STRUGGLE perspective. With the exception of Gore Vida few prominent American authors talk about our ruling class. If any of these jubilant ( for the moment , but come November ? ) oh-so-progressive Democrats ever had a course in Critical Theory of Capitalism , in critical thinking about human society in general , it was quickly forgotten after a few years of brain rotting social climbing ambition forgotten as water off the proverbial duck's back. And how soon after getting that coveted Ivy League law school degree ! Harvard University , for example, can never produce enough professional enemies of the working class not even among the JUST JUDGES .
How few of these SUCCESSFUL American types ever think outside the mental prison box of irrational , mean spirited capitalism. Even our respected , professional historians are just what British philosopher Bertrand Russell said they were : a bunch of sycophants -ever ready to apologize for the latest crimes against humanity of the country's ruling class.
Why are they such intellectual cripples despite that MARVELOUS IVY LEAGUE EDUCATION ? Well, in general, the people on top of any social order imagine that theirs is the best of all possible worlds . Until the day of reckoning like 1789 in France, 1917 in Russia, 1949 in China, 1959 in Cuba . 20?? in America !
