Open letter to Rhode Island State Senator Sam Bell

As a democratic socialist myself I note that the young " progressive " Democrat Sam Bell clashes with older ESTABLISHMENT Democrats that he correctly perceives have little concern or compassion for ordinary working class people - unless they have a lobby and make a lot of noise at the Rhode Island States House. Like Bernie Sanders, Sam Bell has no problem associating himself with another party that calls itself itself SOCIALIST. I don't see any vigorous SOCIALIST movement arising from " progressive " Democrats or SOCIALIST parties that in practice support capitalism and American imperialism ( what is really behind the Ukraine-Russia conflict ) Also the obsessive focus on WOKE values ( Sam is an openly bisexual Jew ) and daffy ideas like Critical Race Theory can only turn off the vast majority of working class CHRISTIANS . I concluded long ago that the biggest mistake of the Soviet Union was to declare itself officially atheist shortly after the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. For me its biggest mistake was definitely not SOCIALISM. But WOKE liberal Democrats and their dubious " socialist " allies routinely mock Christianity , especially Catholicism. They come across as arrogant, elitist snobs in truth completely out of touch with ordinary working class people . Their vociferous campaigns against HATE are ironically quite hateful themselves and brainlessly INTOLERANT . And it does seem to this INDEPENDENT democratic socialist that " liberal " " progressive " Democrats - even more than conservative Republicans - have shown complete contempt for the FREE SPEECH , FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization for decades now. Senator Bell , don't tell me that oh-so-WOKE Brown University is a bastion of FREE SPEECH ! Well meaning Democrats -such as yourself, Senator Sam Bell - need to take an honest look at yourselves . You might consider organizing a THIRD Party - independent of America's capitalist plutocracy. I think America desperately needs a mass Labor Party - similar to the British Labor Party but much more CLASS CONSCIOUS and militant . Anarchic violence is hardly necessary here. On the contrary, an American Labor Party will help preserve CIVILIZATION on the planet earth.
