Did Howard Zinn correctly define ZIONISM somewhere in his prolific published writing ? I can get Zinn's exact quote . By the way, I have no problem with Israel as country embracing any Jews that want to live there. But does its " right to exist " imply the right to exist as an APARTHEID nation-state ? Also socialists in general have a critical view of ANY nation state. We subscribe to a little something called SOCIALIST INTERNATIONALISM . As did many Jews before catching Zionist Fever. Socialist writer Irving Howe in " World of Our Fathers " devoted whole chapters to Jewish involvement in socialist and communist revolutionary movements for a number of decades beginning at the turn of the 20th century. Before Howe died he wrote a political autobiography titled " A Margin of Hope " ( not giving up hope for DEMOCRATIC socialism ) . I do think that militant ZIONISM atrophied the traditional social conscience of so many intellectual Jews. In recent decades you find more " Professional Jews " than Jewish professionals . Describe the state of mind of a Jew who is pro-capitalist, pro-Zionist and pro New Atheist ? Seems like a lost soul to me. [ NOTE : in order to become a citizen of Israel you must take a DNA test for Jewish blood ?
