Catholic writer G.K. Chesterton right about this : he thought that " the purely logical mind was necessarily INSANE ! "

 

I enjoyed reading " The Shadow On The Doorstep " by James P. Blaylock . Was persuaded by this review to read " His Mouth Will Taste of Wormwood " by Poppy Z. Brite tonight. I can see that the self-described atheist, H.P. Lovecraft , did not celebrate " scientific " materialism . COSMIC HORROR seemed to poison enthusiasm for it and demand that the office of the pious Catholic exorcist remain open. Anyway, how can a purely LOGICAL MIND , RATIONAL MIND compose FANTASY horror fiction ? The Catholic writer G.K. Chesterton thought the purely logical mind was necessarily INSANE !
