Way back at the beginning of the Reagan Era I thought that YOUTH OF THE FUTURE were being betrayed. One day in the memorable " Summer of 73 " a dear friend of mine , Ed Maguire, who died just before his 40th birthday , predicted on a stone bench in Washington Park , Providence : " Ron, WE ARE IN FOR A LONG PERIOD OF ROT ! "
