As a lifelong Democratic Socialist I have assumed for decades that the civil rights movement of the 1960s was fairly successful. Definitely not a dismal failure. In general racism is no more eternal than the capitalism that generates it. Way back in 1965 Black Muslim leader Malcolm X made a connection between racism and capitalism, between racism and American imperialism. My favorite Malcolm X quote:" Show me capitalist and I will show you a bloodsucker! " Do the Liberals in the Democratic party have any plan to end capitalism in the United States? Greedy capitalism is not all about LOVE.
