                 As  a lifelong democratic socialist I could not even find a " lesser evil " in the 2020 American presidential election.  The Electoral College system seems to defy popular democracy in principle.   Granted that Joe Biden, like Hillary Clinton in 2016, won the popular vote, the American Constitution still recognizes the Electoral College as decisive .  The sudden -and suspicious- change of fate for President Trump in  contested states like Pennsylvania will make the election of Joe Biden seem rigged ( by DEEP STATE ?) to millions of Trump supporters.   Could WE THE PEOPLE end up with a dual presidency with Trump the New York City based president and Joe Biden  based in the White House ?

                    Remember ancient Rome once had two kings !

     I could not find even a lesser evil third party presidential candidate.  The very sectarian Marxist socialist parties are completely out of touch with the working class they would lead -and weirdly enough have all turned Stalinist, enemies of the Free Speech, Free Thought tradition of Western Civilization.

           The type of " socialists " paranoid Republicans see taking over the Democratic Party are certainly not traditional socialists .They are just illiberal liberals flirting with Anti-Fa fascism.

      In the 21st century the socialist ideal can only survive as a quasi -religious movement not obsessed with conquering state power.
