Cannot the mainstream news media perceive the coming catastrophe of the TWO PARTY SYSTEM in the United States ? The main theme of the 2016 presidential election was a " mad as hell and can't take it anymore " rage at the MACHINE , at the establishment in which the plutocracy , the ONE PERCENT,effectively controls both major political parties , the Democratic Party and the Republican Party.
Indeed Election 2020 may bring on a status quo shattering constitutional crisis. The REAL division of American capitalist society is along economic CLASS lines.
Oddly enough Republicans see the specter of " socialism " in the Democratic Party - a party that has just nominated a pillar of the ESTABLISHMENT Joe Biden. On tell tale ( for democratic socialists ) foreign policy the voice of the Democratic Party sounds eerily like the right wing voice of the John Birch Society in the Cold War days. It promotes the HATE RUSSIA New McCarthyism , promotes false war mongering patriotism while President Trump and the Republicans promote a new " Yellow Peril ". Nuclear war will be harder to " manage " than the Corona Virus pandemic!
The TWO PARTY SYSTEM just now cannot contain or mediate the CLASS conflicts in the United States. Nor the racial , ethnic and " culture war " conflicts.
WE THE PEOPLE desperately need a major anti-capitalist labor party in the United States . Perhaps an institutionalized THREE PARTY SYSTEM can prevent bloody chaos or right wing AND left wing forms of totalitarianism.
To be sure , some American Hitler or American Stalin is waiting in the wings . By the end of the fall we could look like Cairo, Egypt in 2011.
