Could you MAKE the Providence Sunday Journal WORTH $ 5:00 ?

[ " Definitely a shining hour for the Commentary pages, allowing me respite from my dire thoughts of canceling my decades-long subscription!  "  ( LETTERS , February 10 ) .
Tom Fleming, Greenville ]
I would like to see still PRINTED newspapers like the Providence Journal survive. A long , long time ago big city newspapers like the Providence Journal were - whatever  the editorial bias of the newspaper management - year after year a virtual college education for devoted readers .
Readers today would quickly see what I mean if they could quickly access your completely digitized PROJO archives - still mostly on tedious microfilm.  " Time Machine " to 1955 -1965 .   Post war years of HOPE and not just fictional " American Dream "
Another sad loss to once devoted readers of the Providence Journal :  too many recently dear- departed- ones falling through the cracks of " Death Notices ". Once upon a time the most pathetic " old bum " could be honored with a short DEATH NOTICE if not a pretentious OBITUARY .  NOBODY in Little Rhody is without connections .
With a little bit of empathy and common sense PRINTED newspapers can survive as USEFUL and instructive institutions .  Presently is the Providence Sunday Journal of which Tom Fleming complains WORTH $ 5:00 ?   Could you not MAKE IT worth that much ?
