" Trump, however, will not go quietly into this good night ", says Chris Hedges

I am relieved to read that Chris Hedges does see " a problem with impeachment ". No fan of Trump , I could see the Kafkaesque Trump impeachment hearings as very much like the notorious Moscow Trials of the 1930s . Trump is , in fact , right , about the FAKE NEWS media in the United States. And this mainstream news media never quite points out the backbone of DEEP STATE hostility to Trump: an irrational hostility to post-communist Russia. Just when did WE THE PEOPLE in " OUR democracy " get to decide that Russia was still a dangerous ,ever plotting enemy ? Find any working class American who suddenly and mysteriously is devoted to the Ukraine and its assigned ( by Zionist Israel ? ) proxy war against Russia. Could not nuclear armed Russia have the equivalent of its own " Monroe Doctrine " ?
But despite populist rhetoric from Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren THEIR Democrat Party continues to promote the HATE RUSSIA , New McCarthyism.
And way back in 1965 Senator J. William Fulbright had a sharper edge against American foreign policy in his book " The Arrogance of Power " that protested the conduct of the Vietnam War.
[ "Trump, however, will not go quietly into this good night. He will attempt to bring the whole rotten edifice down with him. And he may succeed. "] Unless Chris is a mind reader I see no evidence of a Donald Trump who can't even be VOTED out of office . At his age life statistics might make up his mind for him. All the FASCIST machinery is the hands of DEEP STATE which clearly favors the Hillary Clinton faction of the Democrat Party .
Like Nixon and Reagan and Bush I and Bush II " The Donald " is a moment in time. What will " progressive " Democrats say and do when he is gone from the White House ?
